Born and raised in Tokyo with stops in Singapore and Brooklyn, Akiko has worked as a ceramic artist and fashion designer since 2012. Her collaborations include Paloma Wool, Maman NYC, and Chillhouse with distribution at Steven Alan, Virgil Normal, Seldom Seen, Voyager, Tekuno Tea, and 97 Crosby. In 2019 she released & sold out the acclaimed book “Vase and Flower.” Since then, Akiko has gone on to design her own bespoke fashion line and collaborate with Troentorp Sweden on a line of hand-painted clogs. She lives in the Bay Area with her family.
